It is snowing. The excited reporters on TV insist that we may get up to five inches of new snow on top of the five inches we got two days ago. I am delighted. Since I no longer have to go to work, I can curl up with a book or my computer, get a cup of tea, and enjoy the beauty of the day. This is Minnesota as I remember it from my childhood, and as I have not seen it since I moved back here in 2003. Hurray for the good old days. I will take my 3.5 year old granddaughter out sledding tomorrow and go xcountry skiing on the weekend.

It's cold, only about 20 so the snow is dry and light. Too cold for snowmen or snowball fights. But easy to shovel. I will go out later and shovel my sidewalks instead of using the noisy and polluting snow blower. If the weather were mine to command, I would keep the temps in the mid to upper 20s and order an inch or two of new snow a week through February. Then order a quick thaw and spring. Oh well, nobody gifted me with the command, so I will just have to enjoy this perfect weather while it lasts. I won't apologize to those who have to drive in it (including my husband), because it really isn't my doing. All I am doing is enjoying it.
